2007 summer mission trip to Honduras "Our day at the beach" : The day before we left Honduras we went to a beach. This was not a tourist beach, but one where the locals went. It was not the cleanest, but it was still nice. On the way there we pasted a strange contrast. In many places one side of the road the houses were shacks. On the other side they were very nice.

2007 mission trip: Visiting the boys detention center in Honduras : Going to visit the detention center was an interesting experience. There were two rival gangs there and they could not be let out at the same time. They really didn’t get along well. I got to speak to them, but it was hard because I could not speak Spanish and the fellow helping me did not speak English very well. I told them about God’s love and forgiveness and that He had paid the price for their sins. Five young men stated that they wanted to live for Christ. The workers from Orphan Helpers work with them every day. They have a volunteer who stays at the detention center to work with the guys

A missionary that we met on our way said that no one can go to Honduras without having their heart broken. By the time we left he was right.
